Elaine Lai is a PhD candidate in Buddhist Studies at Stanford University focusing on Indo-Tibetan Buddhism. Prior to this, she spent ten years working, studying and traveling throughout Asia where she formed many important friendships and auspicious connections. She is currently the co-president of the Buddhist Community at Stanford (BCAS) and has a deep love for bringing to life stories that move us towards healing, freedom, and embodying a more compassionate reality. She recently wrote and directed two audio plays, one called Neighbors, centering on the stories of three Asian/Asian American women, and one called Blue Lotus, reimagining the story of full awakening in female form.
